WHAT IS ONE THING YOU HAVE LEARNED IN COLLEGE THAT YOU WISH YOU WOULD HAVE KNOWN IN HIGH SCHOOL AND AS AN INCOMING FRESHMAN?
Before going to college, I wish I had been aware of the time commitment that college required, as well as how to balance everything more efficiently. I also wish I was more creative with the limited food options I had, especially as a freshman!
WHAT DO YOU MISS MOST ABOUT TRAINING AT JS?
I miss the atmosphere at the gym and the changes in my program, as well. I also miss the people from the gym, including Krystal, Curtis, Luc and Jeff. They always pushed me to do my best!
DESCRIBE WHAT A DAY IN THE LIFE LOOKS LIKE FOR YOU, INCLUDING PRACTICE, LIFTING, TRAINING, CLASS, ETC.
In terms of my current schedule, I have class from 8:00–1:50. Then, I have practice from 2:30–5:30. Some days, I also have tutoring from 6:00–7:00.
WHAT ARE YOUR TOP PRIORITIES IN COLLEGE?
I want to win a National Championship.
HOW DOES LIFTING WEIGHTS IMPACT YOUR GAME?
Lifting has a very positive impact on my life. It has helped me realize how amazing it is to be a strong woman. It has boosted my confidence and has helped me in my daily life.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU PRACTICE AND WEIGHT TRAIN?
I practice five times a week, lift for three days of the week, and condition for two days.
HOW HAS TRAINING SINCE JUNIOR HIGH HELPED PREPARE YOU FOR COLLEGE?
This helped me improve my strength early in my volleyball career. I am also knowledgeable of many exercises. In addition, training allowed me to increase my weights quickly and become stronger. I am now aware of the techniques that can help me avoid sustaining any injuries.
