To be perfectly honest, like most people, I make “New Year’s Resolutions” that I can’t even remember by next New Year’s Eve. But this year, I actually plan on keeping mine.

Mainly because it directly impacts my success on the court.

Most people’s resolutions usually are about eating healthier or exercising more. However, for people like myself who already do those things, it is vital to take the next step and take care of my body so that I can go hard in the weight room and at practice.

I am always a go, go, go person and I rarely give myself time to recover. On top of that, I sometimes skip recovery exercises that could save me from current pain.

Yes, there are times to push yourself to your limits but you have to be smart because running yourself thin trying to do everything is pointless if you end up injured.

Being super-human is impossible and that is something I am coming to terms with. So, this year I plan on listening to my body and taking care of me first!

Happy New Year!
